Julia Bethune

Local painter Julia Bethune’s paintings are based both on the mystical and reality.  Working with a variety of mediums, whether watercolour, pastel or acrylic, Julia creates a colourful wonderland from fairy depictions to dramatic landscapes from her dreams.

Julia was born into an arty family and her early memories are that of scribbling and drawing in books to later progressing to painting.  Her creativity as a child continued throughout her life, even with family and work commitments, Julia has persevered with her artistic pursuits by studying in multiple areas of Art and Theory.

Julia has exhibited at both local level, and online, then going on to exhibiting and winning awards for her work. A highlight of which is winning two first places in 2003 and 2006.
